Maison Margiela was founded by Martin Margiela in Paris in 1989. In few years, the brand has established a new approach to fashion characterised by deconstruction, recontextualization and transformation. The brand today is designed by John Galliano and members of the founding Margiela team who continue to hone the maison’s distinctive signature of avant-garde, yet still minimalist and luxurious-to-wear, interpretations of sneakers, distressed knitwear, denim, military uniforms and cotton staples.
